PAM DUN
Creativity is an integral part of my life. It is a process that I have employed throughout my varied careers as teacher, counsellor, landscape designer and art therapist. I have always enjoyed designing homes, interiors and gardens and painting followed my earlier passion for pottery. During the last 15 years I have attended many workshops in NZ and Australia, using a variety of mediums including watercolour, acrylic and oil. In 2006 I completed a Master’s Degree (Hons) at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design.

I love to paint, photograph and interpret the NZ landscape and my style is expressive and impressionistic. I like to capture the essence of a place or person by simplifying and abstracting rather than focusing on descriptive detail. More recently I have found a growing interest in portraiture and am interested in combining the character of individuals with meaningful elements of their personal landscape.

I have lived in several beautiful parts of NZ and I am constantly inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds me. Many of my artworks are inspired by local coastal scenes, birdlife, fauna and flora. I have exhibited in various NZ galleries and won awards in recent years. My work is held in USA, Australia, UK and NZ.
